Call for Papers
On 26 and 27 May 2022, the Kent Centre for European and Comparative Law will host the British Association of Comparative Law (BACL) Postgraduate Workshop on Comparative Law. The Workshop, ‼️which will be organized online, is open to PhD candidates from the UK and from other parts of the world working in the field of comparative law.
The BACL Postgraduate Workshop on Comparative Law will take place over two half days (Thursday afternoon and Friday morning). The Workshop will start with welcoming addresses by the Co-Director of the Kent Centre for European and Comparative Law and the Chair of BACL followed by an opening presentation by a distinguished comparatist offering key recommendations to doctoral students. The remainder of the Workshop will feature up to 12 presentations from PhD candidates. Each presentation will benefit from constructive feedback by a comparatist. In addition, Intersentia Publishing will provide valuable insights into the publication process of PhD dissertations. During the entire event, there will be ample opportunity for general discussion.

All interested PhD candidates from the UK and from other parts of the world working in the field of comparative law are invited to enroll in the workshop and to attend all sessions. Enrolment and attendance are free of charge.
Given the framework of the workshop, it will be possible to accommodate up to 12 PhD candidates wishing to present their dissertation for 20 minutes each. Students interested in presenting at the workshop must submit an abstract of no more than 250 words and a biographical note of no more than 250 words by 1 April 2022.
Students selected to present will be advised by 15 April 2022 and will be given the opportunity to submit a longer summary of their work of no more than 750 words by 2 May 2022, which will then be circulated to one of the commentators joining the workshop.
